I am thankful and proud to have worked with Jarrod Evans for two full calendar years during my tenure in the Collegiate Recruitment Program daily training environment. Jarrod is a strong, disciplined, and extremely organized coach with an expansive knowledge of everything multisport. Jarrod works tirelessly to take the guesswork out of training with meticulous workout programming and race schedule planning. He truly covers every base. I have learned an incredible amount from Jarrod, and feel confident that a foundation for success in my triathlon career has been laid after having worked so diligently with him.

I am true product of what Jarrod Evans can offer. I began with his Beginner Triathlon Squad. I began with no experience and never raced in a triathlon before. In this squad I was taught all the basic skills, learnt what equipment I needed and was encouraged to push my skills to a new level. He was a true inspiration and managed to help me achieve what I never thought was possible within myself. He gave me the ‘bug’ for triathlon and really understood me and coached me accordingly.
Jarrod is the most professional and respected coach I have ever met. He is so smart, yet personal the way he coaches. His long history in the sport has shown his athletes get the results time and time again. His coaching methods and knowledge are his biggest coaching assets.

After taking up triathlon four years ago to keep fit in the off season for soccer, I quickly realized that my new pass time was about to change forever. Especially when I learnt that even at amateur level triathletes had the chance to represent their country and race fellow competitors from all over the world within each age group. This was a chance for me to experience something that I’d always dreamed about. I knew it would take a few years for me to learn the basics well and be able to participate at a level which i’d truly be content with. Having a swimming background and being able to improve my running each season, I found the bike most frustrating as it never seemed to correlate to my training like the other two, racing in a competitive age group domestically where the top guys could really ride a bike I knew things had to improve. After setting my sights on London when it was first announced, I quickly decided to set about updating my equipment and focusing on improving my weaknesses, I spent the season prior focusing on running and then cramming in my cycling seasons, which meant id burned myself out half through that season by not understanding how to balance my training sessions, but this was a fantastic break through and gave me confidence, knowing that in my best form I could mix it with the top guys here in Melbourne, I needed guidance on how to train on the bike so I could gain form and peak for a big race. After racing Mr Evans several times in sessions past, he was always the one guy you knew that when he put himself on the start line for a big event, he was READY, no bull and no excuses, if you was going to beat this guy you better not have a weakness as he never did…!!! I knew Jarrod was the one person that could point me in the right direction and would get me where I needed to be for race day in London, of course I had to find out if he had the time to help me out and write a program that I could use In prep for worlds. Luckily for me he obliged, with consistent hard work and now knowing that the key sessions I was completing each week was now 100% building my bike fitness the right way. When I got to London I truly felt excited but not nervous, I knew I’d done as much as I could to prepare myself (within reason), I felt that a podium was possible if I’d had a great day in both the Aquathlon and Sprint, it’s a feeling I’ve never experienced before as in the past I’ve always felt I should have done more in my prep. I came 4th in the Aquathlon, considering the traveling etc, I raced well and it was great to just get a race under my belt and made me feel ready for my target race two days after. For the Sprint triathlon I knew that my age group had two waves, so if I wanted to think about making the podium I had to realistically win my wave to stand a chance, race morning was cold and very wet, but I was still just excited with no nerves, the race for my wave finally started and with the water temp being close to 15 degrees I found it hard not to feel cold and then be able to pick up my stroke after the initial sprint for the first can, I was 3rd out of the water but was happy enough, as the front two where only 5secs in front, I felt light headed from the cold while running the 300m to transition, but as I headed for the exit with my bike in t1 I was leading, that was until a TA told me to run back and collect my race belt which I forgot to put on, my race number needed to be worn when riding, and I had now slipped to around 5th when I finally jumped on my bike, I was so angry for being careless and initial thoughts where that my chances of making the podium had gone, I decided to use my anger and trust my training, so I could go as hard as I possible and not blow up. The bike course was very slippy & technical, so I just said to myself you never know what’s going to happen don’t give up, I rode the first lap like a crazy person and nearly went too wide on a couple of early corners, I soon settled into a rhythm and got used to the fact that my carbon breaks are not going to work so well in the pouring rain, the anger helped and I started picking riders off very quickly, by the end of the bike I was joint second and could see first place just up the road, in t2 I fell over as transition was like a mud bath, but I bounced up as quickly as I went down. The run was the hardest part of the race, and for me a like a dream come true, almost like something you might see on tv, their was three of us all running for 1st spot in our wave knowing that even if we came first it might not be enough, I’ve never felt so strong running off the bike I was able to surge and recover quickly, as I tried like hell to break the other guys I was racing side by side with, with 1k to go I could hear that their breathing was heavier than mine so I surged and took a quick recovery and made a break for home with about 300m to go, I was running so scared, but the excitement was awesome, I gained a gap of around 4secs, and then heard my name being announced in the finishing straight that I might have won my age group. It took a while for the results to come through, and it still doesn’t seem real even though I now have the medal to prove it.

Big thanks to Jarrod as his knowledge on what is needed to prepare for such an event is literally like gold (I now have the medal to prove it) with out his insight and help I never would of got close to even making the podium.

Jeremy Ryan

Ironman Athlete

I commenced training with Jarrod Evans by correspondence to assist with preparation to complete my first Ironman in Busselton. With Jarrod’s training, guidance and professional support I have now successfully completed three Ironman events. Through his approach I have learned to train smarter, an enormous amount about nutrition and the importance of listening to your body. Jarrod’s regular presence at events provided great support and feedback. At my first Busselton, I was forced to withdraw after the swim. I had a pretty bad mind set (I’d never had to withdraw from an event previously), Jarrod’s approach enabled me to get benefit from the event, as although I was unable to complete the ride, he encouraged me to use the run a training session, something I would not have been in the frame of mind to consider myself, and I came away feeling positive after a negative start to the day. I have no doubt that the opportunity to train with other athletes, professional athletes not only assisted my training but boosted my confidence enormously. I sincerely thank Jarrod and all the athletes that I have had the opportunity to train with over the past two years.

I first joined Jarrod’s Elite Team as a junior athlete. The most enjoyable time and one of my better results was tied in with our high altitude training camp at Jindabyne … my following race in Canberra that season was a breakthrough race for me as I started to realize my potential through your training techniques. Coming off the bike and leading the run was an awesome experience which resulted in my first top 10 in the Australian Junior ITU season. I look forward to turning professional and with Jarrod’s help forging a successful career.

Elite Runner

Coach Jarrod's attention to detail is second to none. His passion, professionalism and knowledge shines through everything he does. He takes time getting to know and identify each individual athletes strengths and weaknesses in order to create a personalized program. This specific and long term approach is what has assisted Jarrod and his team in reaching world class results.

Elite Cyclist | Elite Runner

My time under Jarrod’s training system could be described as nothing short of exceptional. Almost instantaneously under his guidance, I was successfully achieving the goals I set out to, and in my first season of triathlon, came to win several races. The ability to train with a group on a day to day basis was a great motivational tool and made the whole experience as productive and enjoyable as possible. Prompt replies and a seemingly never ending supply of helpful information only further amplify what a great system it is, and I’m sure will continue to be for years to come. Without hesitation I would recommend this system to any aspiring or already established athlete.

Ironman Australia Age Group Champion & Medallist | Ironman Melbourne Age Champion & Medallist | 6 x Hawaiian Ironman Athlete

After a 13 year gap since my first Ironman, I joined Jarrod Evans – the goal, participate at Kona, Hawaii (Ironman Worlds). Three years later, I have a 2nd place at Ironman Australia, raced the arguably the toughest Ironman on the scene (St. George, Utah) and I have been to Kona 4 times, with a best age group place of 5th (9.10hrs). With the program and guidance from Jarrod and the whole crew who train with him, the goal has shifted from participating at Kona to competing and racing at Kona. It’s not just the program you get each month, its not just the wealth knowledge that Jarrod brings with him – its the knowledge of the entire group, which make it such an incredible group of people to train with.

Ian Roduner

Ironman Athlete

For the last 10 months I have been coached by Jarrod Evans; with our sole focus being Ironman Australia (my 2nd IM distance race). Jarrod’s approach was not only very professional but his training system advanced, thorough and one that considers many elements outside the traditional training approach. Although I was training via correspondence the level of interaction and feedback provided via online training tools, email and phone was excellent and more than sufficient to analyse and plan. In addition Jarrod prepared a very detailed race day plan to guide and gauge performance throughout the day. The upshot of training under Jarrod for the 10 months was a 1hr 21min PB. Give me some more of that!
